Vicki L. Russelburg, nee Russell, of Millstadt, IL born July 15, 1959 in Uniontown, KY, died peacefully on February 7, 2024 at her residence.
Vicki loved her family. She enjoyed when David, Natalie, Jennifer, and family recently got together to celebrate Christmas. Likewise, she was extremely proud of her grandchildren. She enjoyed telling stories about their military service, their recent career changes and advancements, their success on the football field or on the wrestling mat, their amazing technology and computer skills, and their talent behind the boat and on a wakeboard.
Vicki enjoyed reading, watching movies, going on girls’ trips to the beach, spending time with her family and friends. She was one of the most selfless people you would ever meet but at the same time very stubborn. She especially loved decorating for the holidays. While working as a custodian at Ellis Elementary School, she spent weeks leading up to Christmas decorating the hallways and foyer of the school to look like a winter wonderland. She didn’t care how long it took, all she cared about was that the kids would walk into school and feel the magic of Christmas.
She spent her life taking care of others whether it was at her job at Ellis School or the many people she cleaned for before she went to work. She became very close with many families that she cleaned for and became like family to them. On the rare occasion she wasn’t working, she enjoyed spending time with her special friend Turbo - the family dog. She absolutely adored Turbo and had no problem telling everyone about him.
Vicki was preceded in death by her daughter, Tracy Dawn Russelburg, her parents, siblings, and many relatives and friends.
Surviving are her son David Russell (DeeDee Hooper); daughters Jennifer (Brian) Mentzer; and Natalie Mosley. Also surviving are five grandsons; Connor, Joe, Will, Keaton, and Chase. In addition, many aunts, uncles, cousins and siblings.
Memorials can be made to Hospice of Southern Illinois or The District 175 Educational Foundation.
