Sean Christopher O’Brien, 40, of Columbia, Illinois, passed away on Sunday December 18, 2022. Sean was born in St. Charles, Missouri on June 14, 1982, to Jacqueline O’Brien, nee English, and she survives.
Sean grew up in St. Charles, Missouri and graduated from Lindenwood University with his bachelor’s degree. He worked in network security for the past several years. In his spare time, he enjoyed watching all types of sports, especially hockey. Sean loved cherry trees and the beautiful blossoms they produce each spring and had planned on filling his backyard with them. He also loved going fishing and hunting and especially loved doing these with his late grandfather, James O’Brien, Sr., with whom he was very close. Sean was a loving husband, son and was a devoted father who loved nothing more than spending time with his children. Sean will be remembered for his kindness and his great sense of humor and will be deeply missed by all those who knew and loved him.
Sean was preceded in death by his paternal grandfather James O’Brien, Sr., his paternal grandmother Jacqueline O’Brien, his maternal grandfather Roger Berger and his maternal grandmother Fredia Krissinger as well as his father-in-law Vance Gray.
Left to cherish his memory is his wife Kari O’Brien, nee Gray, whom he married in Jamaica on November 14, 2015, his mother Jacqueline O’Brien, nee English, his mother-in-law Debbie Gray (the late Vance), his children: Tinsley Della O’Brien, Breena Lynn O’Brien, Vance Jacob O’Brien and Kallen Christopher O’Brien and his sister Katie (Michael) Lawrence in addition to extended family and many beloved friends.
Per Sean’s wishes, cremation has taken place. Celebration of life services will be held at a later date.
