Russell T Albert, Jr.

March 18, 1944 — June 16, 2024

Millstadt, IL

Russell T. Albert, Jr., 80, of Millstadt, IL passed away peacefully, surrounded by his loving family on Sunday June 16, 2024.

Russell was born on March 18, 1944, in East St. Louis, IL. He is preceded in death by his parents, Russell T. and Audrey L. (Allen) Albert, Sr., and grandparents Charles H. and Etta M. Albert.

Russell will be remembered as a humble, kind, and gentle man who was truly loved by all those whose lives he touched. He was a man who enjoyed the simplest pleasures in life, such as being outdoors hunting and fishing at his family clubhouse. He was referred to as the founder of the Team Busch Hunt Club by his son Ryan’s friends and was considered one of them.

Russell served his country in the United States Marine Corps. He was a Purple Heart and Gold Star medal recipient during his time in the Vietnam conflict, a testimony to his bravery and sacrifice. He was also a member of the American Legion Post 1255 and Holy Cross Lutheran Church in East Carondelet, IL.

Left to cherish him is the beloved wife, Lark L. Albert (Karraker); his children: Ryan (Rachele) Albert and Elmer Murphy; his brother, Charles (Nancy) Albert; Sister-in-Laws, as he lovingly referred to as “The Girls”: Laura (Gabby), Janet, Janel, and Lisa; Nieces and nephews, including those who knew him as “PawPaw”; Alexandria, Jacey, Madelyn, and Chase; Neighbor Dave, one of the two luckiest men on Old Farm Road; Lucy Jane, his faithful and beloved dog.

Russell’s spirit of kindness and his love for all creatures will continue to inspire us all.

Per his wishes, cremation has taken place, and a celebration of life will be held at a later date.
