Richard Francis Derousse

Richard Francis DeRousse of Prairie du Rocher, Illinois passed away on Wednesday, December 27, 2017 at Red Bud Regional Hospital in Red Bud, Illinois, having attained the age 74 years and 14 days.
Born in St. Louis, Missouri on December 13, 1943, he was the son of Phillip and Leona DeRousse, nee Obptande. He was united in marriage to Diann Brown on June 14, 1968 at St. Josephs Catholic Church in Prairie du Rocher, Illinois and she survives his passing.
Richard was a welder on barges, a member of Hope Christian Church in Columbia, Illinois and the American Legion.
Preceding him in death were his parents, his parents-in-law, Lloyd "Sam" Brown and Lucille Doiron and a great-grandchild, Americus Turner.
Surviving are his children, Richard Lee (Patty) DeRousse of East Timor, Christine (Dwayne) Jones of Modoc, Illinois, Jeffrey (Carrie) DeRousse of Prairie du Rocher, Illinois, Leslie (Ronnie) Sapp of Macclenny, Florida, Bradley DeRouse and Dawn (Trevor) Acton, both of Prairie du Rocher, Illinois; his brothers, Donald (Sharon) DeRouse of Red Bud, Illinois and Leonard DeRousse of Casey, Illinois; his sister, Rita (Jeff) Baughman of South County, Missouri; his grandchildren, Michael (Alexa) DeRousse of Herculaneum, Missouri, Eden DeRousse of Sydney, Australia, Samuel DeRousse, Leah DeRousse, both of East Timor, Ashley (John) Turner of Chester, Illinois, Tyler (Sam Delay) Jones, Lance Jones, both of Modoc, Illinois, Steffen DeRousse of Waterloo, Illinois, Austin DeRousse of San Antonio, Texas, Chase Sapp of Jacksonville, Florida, Danielle Sapp of Orlando, Florida, Victoria (Nathan) Lay, Courtney Sapp of Macclenny, Florida, Lucy Pollard and Andi Acton, both of Prairie du Rocher, Illinois; his great-grandchildren, Tristan Jones, Paysley Jones and Nevaeh Turner, nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and many friends.
Friends may call on Wednesday, January 3, 2018 from 4:00 P.M. to 5:00 P.M. at Hope Christian Church in Columbia, Illinois.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, January 3, 2018 at 5:00 P.M. at the church.
Interment will be at a later date in Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery in St. Louis, Missouri.
The Creason Funeral Home in Millstadt, Illinois is assisting the family.
