Raymond Joseph Teliczan, Jr., 82, of Millstadt, IL passed away peacefully at his home, surrounded by his loving family on Saturday November 8, 2025. He was born on February 8, 1943, in Grand Rapids, MI to Raymond J. and Mary M. (Lomac) Teliczan, Sr. and his parents precede him in death. He was also preceded in death by his in-laws, John and Elvira Alexander; his brothers, Thomas and Joseph Teliczan and his sister-in-law, Bonnie Alexander.
Raymond grew up in a military family that moved often. He entered the United States Air Force after high school and bravely served his country for four years. After his service, he met his future wife, Marsha Alexander in Mascoutah, IL. They married on October 18, 1969, at Holy Childhood Catholic Church in Mascoutah, IL. They then moved to Dupo, IL and started their family. After spending ten years in Dupo, they moved to Millstadt in April 1979, where they would remain.
Raymond worked for Chrysler Motors for his entire career. He was passionate about model airplanes. He was a member of the Belleville RC Club and Columbia RC Club. Raymond was also passionate about sport shooting and was a member of the NRA, Maryville Gun Club and Millstadt Gun Club. He was also a member of St. James Catholic Church in Millstadt, IL for many years. His family was most important to him, and he cherished the time he spent with them. Raymond will be remembered as a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather and dear friend of many.
Left to cherish his memory is his wife, Marsha (Alexander) Teliczan; his son, Raymond J. (Jamie) Teliczan III; his daughter, Jennifer (Jeffrey) Schaltenbrand; his brother, Stanley (Kim) Teliczan; his sisters-in-law, Joan (James) Prosser and Helen Morgan; his grandchildren: Alena Schaltenbrand, Aubrey Schaltenbrand, Bryce Schaltenbrand and Alexis Trkula in addition to many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
Visitation will be held on Saturday November 15, 2025, from 9:00am-11:00am at St. James Catholic Church, 405 W. Madison St. Millstadt, IL. Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 11:00am with Fr. Evaristus Akabueze, celebrating. Interment will follow at Mt. Evergreen Cemetery in Millstadt, IL.
Memorial contributions in memory of Raymond J. Teliczan, Jr. may be directed to either St. James Catholic School or Millstadt Senior Center and will be collected at the church.
