Ralph E. Beil, 94, of Millstadt, IL passed away on Monday December 20, 2021 at Memorial Hospital in Belleville, IL. Ralph was born on June 1, 1927 in Millstadt, IL to Charles and Otillia Beil, nee Bereitschaft and they precede him in death. He was also preceded in death by his brothers, Walter and Charles Beil and sister-in-law, Bernice Beil.
Ralph proudly served his country in the United States Army during the Korean War. Upon graduating from Washington University School of Engineering, he began his career as a structural engineer. He designed and built the Millstadt VFW Post 7980 building and his own home, which is now registered as a historic place. In his spare time, Ralph enjoyed fishing, golfing and doing his own yard work. Most of all, he loved spending time with his family and friends and will be remembered as a devoted husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and dear friend to many.
Left to cherish his memory is his beloved wife of 72 years, Marilyn Beil, nee Buerk, whom he married at Zion Church of Millstadt, IL on September 10, 1949. His children: Marsha (David) Davis of Millstadt, IL, Lois (Bill) Mayer of Naperville, IL and Tom (Debbie) Beil of Ballwin, MO; his sister-in-law, Laureen Beil of Millstadt, IL; his grandchildren: Glen (Melanie) Davis, Jada (Aaron) Johnson, Bart (Mary) Mayer, Nathan (Lori) Mayer, Tyler Mayer, Alex (Emily) Beil, Craig Beil and Morgan (Quinn) Schafer, 12 great-grandchildren, many nieces, nephews, extended family and beloved friends.
Memorial visitation will be held on Thursday December 23, 2021 from 9:00am-10:00am at Zion Evangelical Church in Millstadt, IL. Funeral Services will be held at the church at 10:00am with the Reverend Darrell Weber, officiating.
Memorial contributions may be directed to Millstadt VFW Post 7980 or to Zion Evangelical Church of Millstadt.
