Mark F. O'Brien

Mark Franklin O’Brien, 65, of Freeburg, IL, passed away peacefully on Monday February 9, 2026, in O’Fallon, IL. Mark was born on October 27, 1960, in St. Louis, MO to Virgil and Ruby (Pinkston) O’Brien and his parents precede him in death. He was also preceded in death by his sister, Sharon Ann O’Brien-White.

Mark grew up in Cahokia, IL. He worked as a typesetter for many years. Later, he worked at Siemens Manufacturing in Freeburg, IL. Mark loved listening to music, fishing and watching sports. He was a big fan of the St. Louis Cardinals. Mark was passionate about caring for his beloved cats and rescued many over the years. He will be remembered as a dear brother and a faithful friend to many.

Left to cherish his memory is his sister, Melanie L. OBrien and his brother, Patrick M. O’Brien and his beloved cat, Princess in addition to his extended family and many friends.

Mark will be laid to rest privately.
