Kathleen Ann Brunk

Kathleen Ann Brunk, nee O’Donnell, 78, of Festus, MO passed away peacefully on Tuesday May 13, 2025, in Freeburg, IL. Kathleen was born on April 7, 1947, in Chicago, IL to Thomas and Norma Jean (Clark) O’Donnell and her parents precede her in death. She was also preceded in death by her brother, Daniel O’Donnell.

Kathleen grew up in Maryland Heights, MO and graduated from Pattonville High School. She then started her family and spent many years as a devoted mother and homemaker. Later, she entered the workforce after she earned her real estate sales license and began working for Century 21 Real Estate. Ultimately, Kathleen would retire from Graybar Electric Company after many years of dedicated service. In her spare time, Kathleen was an avid gardener, and she loved to crochet. She was known for her generosity in giving countless people her handmade afghans over the years. Kathleen also loved birdwatching; hummingbirds were her favorite. She will be remembered most of all as a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt and dear friend of many. She will be deeply missed by all those who knew and loved her.

Left to cherish her memory are her daughters: Angela (Kenton) Sorenson, Rebecca Moss and Alisa White; her brother, Paul (Kim) O’Donnell; her grandchildren: Victoria Sack, Alexis White, Rylee (Cheyenne) White, Kristopher Sorenson, Rhiannon Sorenson, Jacob Moss, Frank Stephenson, Li’Na Stephenson and Alana Stephenson; her great-grandchildren: Isabella Sack, Wyatt Havas, Alexandria White and Hunter White in addition to many nieces, nephews, extended family and beloved friends.

The family will hold a celebration of life at a later date.
