Helen L. Chadeayne, nee Vossel, 85, of Millstadt, IL passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by her loving daughters on Friday November 28, 2025. Helen was born in St. Louis, MO on September 25, 1940, to Alfred and Mary (Marshall) Vossel and her parents precede her in death. She was also preceded in death by her husband, George L. Chadeayne and her daughter, Karen Chadeayne.
Helen grew up in St. Louis, MO and graduated from St. Francis de Sales Catholic High School. She then met her husband, George Chadeayne and they were married on May 5, 1962. Helen began her working life at Boatmen’s Bank in downtown St. Louis, working as a teller. She and George then moved to Millstadt, IL and started their family. Always a hard worker, Helen then started her career in customer service at Golden Dipt in Millstadt. She would be with the company for the next 30 years. After retirement, she re-entered the workforce in a position she loved, serving as a librarian at Millstadt Library.
In her spare time, Helen loved to travel, go camping and she enjoyed attending concerts and theatrical productions at venues such as The Muny and the Fabulous Fox Theatre. She was an avid reader and loved caring for her granddogs. She will be remembered as a loving and devoted wife, mother and dear friend of many.
Left to cherish her memory are her daughters; Kathleen (Bob Cooper) Chadeayne and Michelle Chadeayne and her granddogs; Annie and Elvis in addition to many beloved friends.
Per her wishes, no services will be held.
