Glory L. Weissert

Glory Leann Weissert, nee Wilson, 63, of Lenzburg, IL, passed away at her home on Wednesday March 11, 2026. Glory was born on February 26, 1963, in Belleville, IL to Edward and Deloris (English) Wilson and her parents precede her in death. She was also preceded in death by her brother, Edward Wilson and her nephew, David Wilson.

Glory lived most of her life in New Athens, IL and recently resided in Lenzburg, IL. After graduating from New Athens High School, she attended Coiffure School of Cosmetology in Belleville, IL and graduated in 1981. She went on to work at Regency Salon and Glamour Shots both in St. Clair Square Mall, until moving on to work at the Belleville Shoe Factory.

Glory enjoyed spending relaxing walks with her son’s dog, Tank. She was a huge fan of Poison and loved listening to 80’s rock music. She enjoyed peaceful car rides and summer evenings at the drive-in movie theatre. She will be remembered as a loving wife, mother, sister, aunt and dear friend of many.

Left to cherish her memory is her former spouse, Randy E. Weissert; her son, Randall G. Weissert, her stepdaughter, Jessica Walz; her siblings: Melody Winkelman, Steve (Niecy) Wilson, sister-in-law, Sharon Wilson; nieces and nephews: Elizabeth Winkelman, Netta Wilson, Adam Wilson, Bobby Wilson, Matt Wilson and Benjamin “B.J.” Wilson; her great-nieces and great-nephews, James Wilson, Robyn Jetton, Becca Wilson and Zachary Wilson in addition to extended family and many beloved friends.

The family will host a celebration of life at a later date.
