Evelyn C. Weber, nee Buescher, 91 of Millstadt, IL passed away at her home on Wednesday June 17, 2026. She was born on September 4, 1934, in rural St. Libory, IL to George and Bertha (Beelman) Buescher and her parents precede her in death. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Melvern H. Weber; her siblings: Armella (Ferdinand) Luecking, Dolores Bergkoetter, Rosalie (Gilbert “Skip”) Mense, Harold (Virginia) Buescher, Ralph Buescher and Robert Buescher; her sister-in-law, Celeste (Ray) Buescher and brother-in-law, Alan (Marcella “Marcie) Weber.
Evelyn grew up in rural St. Libory, IL and graduated from St. Libory Grade School. She went to work in St. Louis, MO and later married her husband, Melvern on May 1, 1956, at St. Liborius Catholic Church in St. Libory, IL. She and Melvern then moved to Belleville, IL and began their family. Evelyn then became a homemaker and mother, raising her five children in a home filled with love and laughter. While living in Belleville, Evelyn was a devoted member of St. Peter’s Cathedral for many years. Later in life, she began working as a nursing assistant at St. Elizabeth’s Hospital in Belleville, IL until her retirement. In 1995, Melvern and Evelyn moved to Millstadt, IL where they would remain.
Evelyn was a member of St. James Catholic Church in Millstadt, IL and was very involved at the Millstadt Senior Center. She will be remembered as the favorite senior citizen of many. She had a very outgoing personality and never met a stranger. She sincerely loved meeting new people. She loved to exercise, especially walking and was proud to live independently. Most important to Evelyn was her family and all the time she spent with them. She will be remembered as a loving and devoted mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt and dear friend of many.
Left to cherish her memory are her children: Mark (Macy) Weber, Marilyn (Bob) Braun, Jerry (Lori) Weber, Paul (Lillian) Weber and Angela (John) Hiller; her grandchildren: Kyle (Colleen) Braun, Kristen (Tom) Sircher, Amanda (Mike) Daugherty, Andrew Weber, Garrett Weber, Noella Weber, Rosie Wendt, Jack Hiller, Sam Hiller and Benjamin Weber, her great-grandchildren: Luke, Logan, Thomas, Parker, Rowan and Scarlett; her brothers-in-law, Roger Weber and Tom Bergkoetter and her sisters-in-law, Sandra Buescher and Donna Hummert in addition to many nieces, nephews, extended family and countless friends.
Visitation will be held on Monday June 22, 2026, from 4:00pm-7:00pm at St. James Catholic Church, 405 W. Madison St., Millstadt, IL and again on Tuesday June 23, 2026, from 9:30am-10:30am at the church. Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 10:30am with Fr. Evaristus Akabueze, celebrant. Private family interment will take place at St. Anthony’s Catholic Cemetery in Lively Grove, IL.
Memorial contributions in memory of Evelyn C. Weber may be directed to Millstadt Senior Center or St. James Catholic Church. Envelopes will be available at the church.
