Evelyn J. Myers

Evelyn J. Myers, nee Weber, 82, of Smithton, IL passed away peacefully at her home on Sunday September 6, 2026. She was born on June 8, 1944, in Belleville, IL to Arthur and Viola (Vielweber) Weber and her parents precede her in death. She was also preceded in death by her son, Glenn Myers; her sister, Gloria (Eugene “Gene”) Sherland; and her nephews: David Sherland and James “Jim” Sherland.

Evelyn grew up in Smithton, IL. She worked as a nursing assistant for 37 years at St. Elizabeth’s Hospital in Belleville, IL. She was devoted to the care she gave her patients. Evelyn loved animals, especially cats.

Left to cherish her memory is her sister, Elaine Weber; her special friends, Pattie and James Tweedy; her nephew, Ken Sherland and her great-nephews: Matthew “Matt” Sherland, Wayne Sherland, Gregory Sherland and Travis Sherland.

Private burial will be held.
