Emma Jane Davis

Emma Jane Davis, nee Barrnett, 79 of Chester, Illinois passed away at Memorial Hospital in Chester on Monday February 22, 2021. Born on May 21, 1941 in Equality, Illinois, she was the daughter of Thomas and Dora Barrnett, nee Boyd and they precede her in death. Emma was also recently preceded in death by her beloved husband of 61 years, David Davis. Also preceding her in death are her two infant sisters, two infant children, her brothers-in-law, Jack Harrison, Donald Davis and William Davis.

Emma worked for many years as a florist and for the Randolph County JTPA office. She was a member of the Eagles Club. In her spare time she enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren. Emma was a dear friend to many and will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.

Left to cherish her memory are her children: Dava (Jerry) Uhls of Tallahassee, Florida and Donna (Jeff) Davitz of Ellis Grove, Illinois. Her sister, Vonnie Hughes of Huntsville, Alabama, her grandchildren; David Paulter of Tallahassee, Florida, Kacie (Michael) Simpson of Evansville, Illinois, Jeffrey (Krystal) Davitz II of Ellis Grove, Illinois and her great-grandchildren; Austin and Emma Davitz.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the ACPMP Research Foundation. A memorial service will be held for Emma and her husband, David at a later date.
