Ellsworth Leroy Pontious, Jr. of Overland, Missouri passed away on Saturday, March 14, 2009 at his home at the age of 56 years, 1 month and 7 days.

Born in St. Louis on February 7, 1953, he was the son of the late Ellsworth Leroy and Gladys Marie (Fisher) Pontious, Sr.

Mr. Pontious was self-employed in construction.

Survivors are his three sisters, Martha (Richard) Gaffney of St. Louis, Dorothy (Eugene) Pontious of Pacific, Missouri and Gwen (John) Shelley of St. Louis; nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins; his best friend, Albert Hunot of St. Louis and many other friends.

Friends may call on Wednesday, March 18, 2009 from 4:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. at Southern Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to the family and will be received at the funeral home.
A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, March 18, 2009 at 8:00 P.M. at the funeral home.

Interment will be private.
