Delores Mae Carroll

Delores Mae Carroll, nee Griffin, 76 of Millstadt, IL passed away peacefully on Tuesday September 15, 2026. Dee was born on August 4, 1950, in East St. Louis, IL to Ralph and Juanita (Sidler) Griffin and her parents precede her in death. She was also preceded in death by her daughter, Tammy Nikrant, her sisters Billie Jean Griffin and Cheryl Russell and her brother Kenneth Griffin.

Dee worked for many years at Belleville Shoes, Golden Dipt in Millstadt and finally at Millstadt Consolidated Schools. She wanted to be close to her grandchildren, so she began working as a playground monitor and later in the school cafeteria until her retirement.

Dee was a licensed Ham radio operator and enjoyed helping her husband in the garden during her spare time. Most important to her was her family and the time she spent with them. She will be remembered as a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and dear friend of many.

Left to cherish her memory is her husband, Buddy Carroll whom she married in 1964 in Centreville, IL; her children: Robert Carroll and Diana (Dean Sr.) Fults; her siblings: Billy (Marlene) Griffin, Patricia (Spencer) Delin, Johnny Griffin and Ronnie (Linda) Griffin; her grandchildren: Derik Carroll, Ashley (Ricky) Schmidt and Dean Fults, Jr. and her great-grandchildren: Cooper Schmidt, Emmarie Schmidt and Westin Schmidt in addition to many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.

Per her wishes, private burial will be held at a later date.
