David M. Klingler

David M. Klingler, 57, of Millstadt, IL, passed away at his home on Saturday October 7, 2023. He was born on October 16, 1965, in East St. Louis, IL to Irwin and Rosemary Klingler, nee Welzbacher and they precede him in death. David was also preceded in death by an infant brother, Thomas Klingler.

David grew up in Swansea, IL and graduated from Belleville West High School, class of 1983. He then attended Belleville Area College, earning his certification in Aerospace Mechanics and his FAA Mechanics License. He had a distinguished career with Boeing for 35 years prior to his retirement. He was a member of the International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers (IAM) throughout his career.

David was a classic car enthusiast and loved going to car shows. He also enjoyed attending local stock car races and riding his motorcycle. In recent years, he enjoyed tropical vacations in Costa Rica and the Caribbean. David was a past member of St. Teresa of the Child Jesus in Belleville, IL.

Left to cherish his memory are his siblings: Geralyn Coleman of Oshkosh, WI, Marilyn (Dr. Lawrence) Alberti of Geneva, IL, Carolyn (Phil) Walton of Arlington Heights, IL, Mark (Cindy) Klingler of Weatherford, TX, Diane Forrest of Bloomington, IL and Steven (Barb) Klingler of Collinsville, IL in addition to many nieces and nephews and beloved friends.

Memorial visitation will be held on Friday October 13, 2023, from 10:00am-12:00pm at Hoffen Funeral Home, 220 W. Washington St., Millstadt, IL. Memorial service immediately following at 12:00pm with Msgr. Marvin Volk, officiating. Inurnment will follow at Green Mount Catholic Cemetery in Belleville, IL.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to charity of the donor’s choice.
