Daniel W. Jackson, 83, of Columbia, IL, born October 10, 1942, passed away on August 7, 2026.
Daniel lived a life filled with generosity, humor, music and a genuine love for the people around him. He proudly served his country in the United States Army. He later built his career as a salesman in public relations where his outgoing personality and natural ability to connect with others served him well.
Those who knew Daniel will remember him most for his good heart, generous spirit and unforgettable sense of humor. He had a way of making people laugh and bringing life to any gathering. He was an avid tennis and golf enthusiast, and had a great passion for playing music, riding motorcycles and cruising around in convertibles.
Daniel shared his life with his longtime partner, Sandra “Sandy Sue” Macke. He was the son of Margaret “Peggy” O’Flaherty and was one of seven siblings: Robert, Rex (Janet), Mark, Mickey, Cheryl Goodall and Gary. He is survived by his brother Mark and sister Cheryl.
Daniel leaves behind a lifetime of memories and the many people fortunate enough to have known and loved him. His generosity, humor and good heart will be deeply missed, but the laughter and stories he created along the way will live on in those who knew him.
A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
