Dan P. Casson, 75, of Columbia, IL, passed away on September 25, 2025, in St. Louis, MO. He was born on February 24, 1950, in East St. Louis, IL to Dan and Reginia Mae Casson and his parents precede him in death. He was also preceded in death by his beloved wife, Connie Renae Casson and his sister, Diana Lynn Cupp.
Dan grew up in the East St. Louis and Cahokia areas. He proudly served his country in the United States Air Force and later in the Army Reserves. Dan was an accomplished musician who played the guitar and bass guitar professionally. He once appeared on the Merv Griffin Show. He was a hard-working man throughout his life.
In his spare time, he enjoyed fishing, traveling, attending BBQ’s and most of all, spending time with his beloved family and friends. He will be remembered as a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and dear friend of many.
Left to cherish his memory are his children: James (Toni) Casson, Joel (Shannon Johnson) Casson, Natalya Casson, Tatiana Casson, Anna Casson and Yulia Casson; his grandchildren, Megan (Dustin Walker) Casson and Madison Casson and his great-grandchildren: Avery Casson and Alyvia Walker in addition to many nieces, nephews, extended family and many friends.
Cremation has taken place. Dan was laid to rest with full military honors in Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery in St. Louis, MO.
