Carolyn S. Thompson

Carolyn Thompson, born January 2, 1945, in East St. Louis, IL, passed away on December 10, 2025. She taught elementary education in school district 189, Cahokia, IL for 35 years. She retired in 2000.

She is survived by her husband, Jimmie Thompson; her 3 sons: Brain (Shannon) Thompson, Michael Thompson and Jamie Thompson; five grandchildren: Brianne, Leeah, Neill, Christian and Ava; her sister and brother-in-law, Marilyn and Wally Rantz and her brother-in-law, John Thompson.

She was preceded in death by her mother and father, George and Alice Fresen.

A celebration of life will be held on Saturday December 20, 2025, at Catholic War Veterans, 3535 IL 159, Smithton, IL from 3:00pm-7:00pm.
