Carol June Walker

Carol June Walker, nee Quevreaux, 88, of Millstadt, IL, passed away peacefully in the morning of Sunday December 10, 2023, with her loving family by her side. Carol was born in East St. Louis, IL on June 19, 1935, to Ralph Quevreaux, Sr. and Dorothy Watson (nee, Brendel), and they precede her in death. Carol was also preceded in death by her sons: Donald Gene Walker and Gary Ray Walker; her brothers Freddy Cleaves and Ralph Quevreaux, Jr., her infant sister Sandra and her dear grandmother, Myrtle Anderson who was like a mother to her.

Carol will be remembered as a truly gifted homemaker. She loved to care for the family home and made many fond memories with her family within its loving walls. She loved to bake for her family and was an exceptional housekeeper. She stayed at home and raised all of her children with the love only a mother can provide. If given a choice of staying in or going out, Carol preferred to stay in and watch movies, especially thrillers.

Left to cherish her memory is her loving husband of 74 years, Robert Walker, her children: Sherry (Tom) Simpson, Kathy (Mark) Schlemmer, her grandchildren, great-grandchildren, in addition to many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.

Visitation will be held on Friday December 15, 2023, from 11:00am-1:00pm at Hoffen Funeral Home, 220 W. Washington St., Millstadt, IL. Funeral services will follow at 1:00pm. Interment will follow at Valhalla Gardens of Memory in Belleville, IL.
