Allan Dale Willams, 77, was born on October 5, 1948 in Ypsilanti, Michigan and died on
May 14, 2026 in Edwardsville, Illinois. He was born to Chester and Treva Pergram.
Later his mother married Luther Williams, who then adopted him, changing his last
name to Williams. But to those who knew him, he was affectionately known as “Dale”.
He spent most of his childhood in Madison, Illinois where he graduated high school in
1966. When he was 22, he met Nancy Kramer, marrying her just 5 weeks later on
February 20, 1970. They were married for 56 years.
Throughout his life, Dale worked in a variety of fields, starting as a hospital volunteer as
a teenager. After 10 years at a brokerage firm, he switched gears and moved to Big
River Zinc. He continued there until the company closed in 2007. No matter the position,
Dale worked hard to support his family.
Dale was introduced to the “truth” through a friend of Nancy’s in 1971. After many
changes, they were baptized a year and a half later on July 13, 1973 at the “Divine
Victory” Assembly of Jehovah’s Witnesses. He most recently was part of the
Edwardsville, Illinois Congregation.
Dale’s love for creation was evident through the care he gave his Bonsai trees, his
many pets, and especially his miniature horses. His interests included photography and
reading, but food was definitely his love language. He will be remembered for the many
tasty dishes he made throughout the years as well as the good times spent singing in
the car and dancing in the kitchen. He was an affectionate father and husband.
While his parents have passed away, he leaves behind two brothers, Ray Pergram of
Ohio and Jack Williams of Missouri. He is survived by his wife Nancy, their four children
and their spouses, Seth Williams, Sarah and Jason Meyer, Leah and Mike Gibson, and
Rebekah Mathenia; six grandchildren and their spouses, who lovingly called him
“Grandad”, Mina Mathenia, Cole and Paris Meyer, Jake and Carol Meyer, Aiden Gibson,
Sydnee Meyer, Rylee Meyer; and lastly, one great-granddaughter, Luna Sofia Meyer,
who he recently was overjoyed to meet, along with many other family and friends who
were dear to his heart.
