Alejandro Martinez

Alejandro Martinez, 53, of Millstadt, IL passed away peacefully, surrounded by his loving family on Tuesday June 16, 2026. Alejandro was born in Hidalgo Michoacan, Mexico on January 10, 1973, to Vicente and Alicia (Maldonado) Martinez.

Alejandro was a resident of Millstadt for many years. He was owner and operator of Mariachi’s Mexican Restaurant, which he founded in the early 2000’s, and he loved his business dearly. Much of his time was spent caring for his customers and staff. When he could get away, he enjoyed travelling back to his hometown of Ciudad Hidalgo in Mexico. Alejandro will be remembered as always being a happy person whom everyone described as “the life of the party.” His family will remember him as a loving son, husband, father, grandfather, brother and dear friend of many.

Left to cherish his memory are his parents; his wife, Ibeth Alcantar, whom he married on September 28, 2022; his children: Makenzie Martinez, Valeria Alcantar and Andre Alcantar; his siblings: Tito Martinez, Liliana (Mauricio Rubio) Martinez, Jorge (Gabriella) Martinez, Luis (Elizabeth) Martinez, Mario Martinez and Irepan (Chelsea) Martinez; his grandchildren: Mateo and Emiliano in addition to extended family and many beloved friends.

A celebration of Alejandro’s life will be held at a later date.
