William Thomas Cheseldine

May 31, 1957 — December 6, 2019

William “Bill” T. Cheseldine, 62 of Belleville, Illinois passed away peacefully at his home, surrounded by his loving family on Friday December 6, 2019. Born on May 31, 1957 he was the son of Joseph and Hilda Cheseldine, nee Hopkins, and they precede him in death. Bill was also preceded in death by a sister, Helen Cheseldine.

Left to cherish his memory is his wife, Tammy Cheseldine, nee Herbstreith of Belleville, Illinois, his children: Greg Muehlfeld (Renee), Daniel Cheseldine, Billy Cheseldine, Thomas Cheseldine and Eric (Linda) Muehlfeld. His grandchildren: Asher, Shelby, Madison, Ragan and Kennedy. His brother Joe Cheseldine, brother-in-law Gary Perryman and sister-in-law Robyn Perryman, many nieces, nephews, extended family and beloved friends.

Bill worked as a custodian for the Belleville School District # 118 for 35 years. He proudly served his country as a Seaman in the United States Navy. In his spare time, Bill loved to fish, hunt, bowl, golf and loved playing with his grandchildren. Bill was a dear friend to many and will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

A celebration of life will be held on Saturday December 14, 2019 from 1:00pm-4:00pm at Laborer’s International Union Hall, 100 N. 17th Street Belleville, Illinois 62226. Bill will be buried with honors at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery, St. Louis, Missouri on Monday December 16, 2019 at 11:00 am. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made directly to the family.
