Sarah Ruth Edwards of Belleville, Illinois, departed this life on May 30, 2014, at Belleville Memorial Hospital with family at her side. Sarah had attained the age of 69 years, 10 months, and eleven days. Sarah was born in Chicago, Illinois, the daughter of Hezekiah and Mary M., nee Liggon, Wilson.

She was a homemaker throughout her life.

She was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers, Syl and Jedediah Wilson.
Sarah is survived by her daughters Judidiah Edwards of Belleville, Illinois, and Khia Edwards of New York, New York; brothers Reggie Wilson, of St. Louis, Missouri, Stanley Wilson, of Chicago, Illinois, Arnie Wilson, of California, and Levi Wilson, of Las Vegas, Nevada; a sister, Marsha Wilson, of Chicago, Illinois; two grandchildren, Marshawn Edwards, of Portland Oregon, and Michael Brown, of Belleville, Illinois; a great-granddaughter, Ariana Jedediah Edwards, of Portland, Oregon; and many nieces, nephews, and friends.

A memorial service is being planned for a later date.
