Sandra A. Hangsleben

Sandra A. Hangsleben, 81, of O’Fallon, IL, passed away at her home on Tuesday September 27, 2022. She was born on October 31, 1940, in Redford Township, Michigan to George W. and Betty M. Tripp, nee Garn and they precede her in death. Sandra was also preceded in death by her daughter, Kristine Gibbons, her son, Michael Hangsleben and her former spouse, Norman Hangsleben.

Sandra worked as a bartender for over 35 years for Red Lobster. She was known as someone with a great sense of humor who enjoyed having fun. She truly loved animals and her pets meant the world to her. She was always ready to rescue any stray that crossed her path. Sandra was a devoted mother, sister, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She was sassy, funny, opinionated, loving-a tiny lady with a huge heart of gold. She faced many obstacles in her life and wiped her tears and looked ahead. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.

Left to cherish her memory is her son, Jeffery Hangsleben of O’Fallon, IL, her siblings: Beverly (the late Rev. Kenneth) Edelman, Fred (Frieda) Tripp, Bobby (Theresa) Tripp, Roger (Terri) Tripp, Lynn (Paul) Laughlin, Robin (Lyle) Batson and David (Sharon) Zitzman; her grandchildren: Jamie (Matthew Penn) Gibbons, Stephanie (Finis) Williams, Trent Gibbons and Nathan Hangsleben; her great-grandchildren, Jade Williams and Jim Wellen, in addition to extended family and many beloved friends.

Memorial visitation will be held on Monday October 10, 2022, from 2:00pm-4:00pm at Hoffen Funeral Home, 220 W. Washington St., Millstadt, IL, the memorial service will follow at 4:00pm at the funeral home with Rev. Roger Tripp, officiating.
