Ronald "Ronnie" R. Karcher, Jr.

Ronald R. Karcher, Jr. “Ronnie”, 50, of Belleville, IL passed away at his home on Thursday March 9, 2023. Ronnie was born on September 2, 1972, in Red Bud, IL to Deacon Ronald R. Karcher, Sr. and Judy Karcher, nee Herrmann and they survive. Ronnie was preceded in death by his dear wife Lotina J. Karcher, nee Vannoy, his paternal grandparents Robert and Olivia Karcher and his maternal grandfather Erwin J. Herrmann.


Ronnie grew up in Millstadt, IL and graduated 8th grade from St. James Catholic School. He then graduated from Althoff Catholic High School in Belleville, IL. Ronnie furthered his education at SWIC and Vatterott College, graduating from Vatterott College with an A.A.S. degree. Ronnie worked as the deli Manager at Schnucks, formerly Market Basket in Columbia for the past twenty years.


Ronnie’s passion was to visit every baseball field in the United States, and he was able to visit many of them. In his spare time, he loved to sing karaoke with his friends, he loved riding his motorcycle and he was known for his massive collection of keychains from all over. Ronnie was a member of St. James Catholic Church of Millstadt, IL and the Millstadt Jaycees. He will be remembered as a loving and devoted son, husband, brother, uncle and dear friend to many.


Left to cherish his memory are his parents Deacon Ronald R. Karcher, Sr. and Judy Karcher of Millstadt, IL, his maternal grandmother Ruth Herrmann of Millstadt, IL, his bother Andrew (Ella) Karcher of San Diego, CA and his nieces Melea Karcher, Maya Karcher and nephew Marston Karcher in addition to many aunts, uncles, cousins, extended family and dear friends.


Memorial visitation will be held on Friday March 17, 2023, from 4:00pm to 7:00pm at St. James Catholic Church, 405 W. Madison St., Millstadt, IL, and again on Saturday March 18, 2023, from 10:00am-11:00am at church. Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 11:00am with Msgr. Marvin Volk, officiating.
