Melba Louise Pruitt of Millstadt, Illinois passed away on Wednesday, May 29, 2013 at Atrium Healthcare in Cahokia, Illinois, having attained the age of 85 years, 1 month and 2 days.
Born in Eldorado, Kansas on April 27, 1928, she was the daughter of Russell Neville and Ella Florence White, Nee Vore. She was united in marriage to Charles Dewey Pruitt on December 20, 1947 in Carbondale, Illinois and he preceded her in death on November 24, 2009.

Mrs. Pruitt was an educator at Florissant Valley Community College and Belleville Junior College.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles, her parents, four sisters and one brother.
Surviving are her children, Charles Dean (Natalya) Pruitt of Millstadt, Illinois, Rebecca Jo (Sandy) Breadbenner of Holmdel, New Jersey and Douglas Eric (Pamela) Pruitt of Belleville, Illinois; her grandchildren, Charles Adrian Pruitt, Dewey Vladimir Pruitt, Yekatrina Louise Pruitt, Michael Harry Smalls, John Smalls and Cassandra Breadbrenner, nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and many friends.

Friends may call on Thursday, June 6, 2013 from 4:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. at the Creason Funeral Home in Millstadt, Illinois.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, June 6, 2013 at 8:00 P.M,. at the funeral home with Pastor Darrell Weber officiating. The funeral procession will depart from the funeral home on Friday, June 7, 2013 at 10:30 A.M. for an 11:15 A.M. interment in Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery in St. Louis, Missouri.
The Creason Funeral Home in Millstadt, Illinois is in charge of arrangements.
