Melba Emma Elba Linnemann of Columbia, Illinois, formerly of Millstadt, Illinois entered eternal rest on Sunday, August 25, 2013 at Columbia Rehab and Nursing Center in Columbia, Illinois having attained the age of 86 years and 26 days.

Born on July 29, 1927 in Belleville, Illinois, she was the daughter of Elmer G. and Elsa M. Hettenhausen, Sr., nee Weichbrod. She was united in marriage to Vernon Linnemann on April 20, 1947 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Millstadt, Illinois and he preceded her in death on November 14, 2008.
Mrs. Linnemann was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Millstadt, Illinois, V.F.W. Post 7980 Auxiliary in Millstadt, Illinois and the Ladies Aid of Trinity Lutheran Church.

Preceding her in death besides her husband, Vernon Linnemann were her parents and her brother, Melvin Hettenhausen.

Surviving are her children, Stephen (Peggy) Linnemann of Bonner Springs, Kansas, John (Joyce) Linnemann and Mark (Letitia) Linnemann, both of Millstadt, Illinois; her sister, Marie Keck of Millstadt, Illinois; her brother, Elmer 'Butch' (Sharon) Hettenhausen, Jr. of Millstadt, Illinois; 7 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren and many friends.

Friends may call on Wednesday, August 28, 2013 from 9:00 A.M. to 11:00 A.M. at Trinity Lutheran Church in Millstadt, Illinois. Memorials may be made to Hospice of Southern Illinois and will be received at the funeral home.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, August 28, 2013 at 11:00 A.M. at the church with Rev. Michael Kumm officiating. Interment will follow in Lake View Memorial Gardens in Fairview Heights, Illinois.
