Lola Marie Berens

Lola Marie Berens of Belleville entered eternal rest on Friday, November 13, 2009 at the Grange Nursing Home in Mascoutah having attained the age of 89 years, 9 months and 3 days.
Born on February 10, 1920 in East St. Louis, she was the daughter of Joseph and Bertha (Schmidt) Draggon. She married Earl Berens on March 17, 1945 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in East St. Louis and he preceded her in death.

Mrs. Berens was a elementary school teacher in the Cahokia School District and a member of Our Lady Queen of Peace Catholic Church in Belleville.

Preceding her in death besides her husband, were her parents and two brothers, Joseph Draggon and Robert Draggon.

Left to mourn her passing are her children, Linda Cassin of Belleville and Thomas Berens of Belleville, her grandchildren, Sandra (Jaime) Salinas of Mascoutah, Alison Berens of Belleville and Maureen Cassin of Las Vegas, Nevada, her great-grandchildren, Samuel Salinas, Riley Salinas and Amelia Salinas all of Mascoutah, nieces, nephews and many friends.
A memorial mass will be held on Saturday, November 21, 2009 at 11:00 A.M. at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church in Belleville. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Grange Nursing Home, 901 North Tenth Street, Mascoutah, Illinois 62258.

The family invites friends to share in the memorial mass followed by a luncheon at Fischers Restaurant in Belleville.
