Kathern Margaret Berrong

Kathern Margaret Berrong, formerly Kathern Margaret Stone, of Belleville, Illinois passed away on Thursday, April 5, 2018 at Bria of Belleville in Belleville, Illinois, having attained the age of 96 years, 6 months and 15 days.

Born in New Madrid, Missouri on August 20, 1921, she was the daughter of Earl D. and Nina Mitchell, Nee Lyons. She was united in marriage to Hobert Stone in Harrisburg, Illinois in 1938 and he preceded her in death in 1973. In 1980, she was united in marriage to Earl Berrong in Pamona, California and he preceded her in death in 1994.

Kathern was a housewife and of the Baptist faith.

Preceding her in death were her parents, her husbands, Hobert Stone and Earl Berrong; her brothers, John Mitchell, Paul Mitchell and Jim Mitchell and her sisters, Margie and Nina.

Surviving are her daughter, Karel Emig of OFallon, Illinois; her brothers Jerry Mitchell of Ocala, Florida, Gail (Vera) Mitchell of Fairview Heights, Illinois and Ted Mitchell of Lebanon, Illinois, many nieces, nephews and many friends.

A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, April 10, 2018 at 10:00 A.M. at Walnut Hill Cemetery in Belleville, Illinois.
