Dr. Donald Reynolds St. John


Dr. Donald Reynolds St. John of Millstadt, Illinois, formerly of Marshall, Missouri, entered eternal rest on Tuesday, January 21, 2014 at Missouri Baptist Hospital in St. Louis, Missouri having attained the age of 86 years and 17 days.
Born in Ft. Lupton, Colorado on January 4, 1928, he was the son of Ray and Eleanore St. John, nee O'Connor. He was united in marriage to Katherine A. Varvandakis on March 2, 1957 in Denver, Colorado.
Dr. St. John was a graduate of St. Louis University School of Medicine, a World War II veteran of the United States Navy, the medical director of the State School and Hospital for the Mentally Retarded in Marshall, Missouri, a member of the American Medical Association, the Missouri Medical Association and St. James Catholic Church in Millstadt, Illinois.

Preceding him in death were his parents and his wife, Katherine St. John on March 27, 2011.

Surviving are his children, Caroline Neal, Susan (Glenn) Gumb both of Overland Park, Kansas, Theresa St. John and Michael St. John, both of Millstadt, Illinois and two grandchildren, Anne Marie Neal and Katie Jo Gumb, nieces, nephews and many friends.

Graveside services will be held on Monday, January 27, 2014 at 9:00 A.M. at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery in St. Louis, Missouri with military honors accorded at the graveside.

The Creason Funeral Home in Millstadt, Illinois is in charge of arrangements.
