Donald G. Hildebrand

Donald G. Hildebrand, 84, of Millstadt, IL, passed away at his home on Saturday June 10, 2023. Donald was born on June 15, 1938, in Belleville, IL to George and Elvira Hildebrand, nee Hoock, and they precede him in death.

Donald was a lifelong resident of Millstadt. He graduated from Cathedral High School in Belleville, IL and then furthered his education at Ranken Technical Institute, graduating from their automotive program. He then began working as an automotive mechanic. Donald owned and operated Hildebrand Complete Auto in Millstadt from 1966 until his retirement in 2018. Donald also taught automotive classes at Scott Air Force Base for many years.

In his spare time, he enjoyed automotive racing, hunting, fishing and most of all spending time with his beloved family and friends.

Donald was a member of St. James Catholic Church in Millstadt and the Knights of Columbus.

Left to cherish his memory is his wife of 66 years, Helen Hildebrand, nee Demick, whom he married on October 10, 1956, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Freeburg, IL; his children: Deborah Theis, Pamela (Joseph) Perrin, Steven (Rebecca) Hildebrand, Sheila (Mark) Vallowe, Kevin (Lisa) Hildebrand and Anthony (Pamela) Hildebrand; his sister Helen (the late Walter) Menner, 10 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren, in addition to extended family and friends.

The family will hold Celebration of Life services at a later date.
