Dolores Ann Gamel passed away on Friday, December 30, 2011 at Mercy Hospital in St. Louis, having reached the age of 78 years, 8 months and 24 days.

Born in St. Louis, Missouri on April 6, 1933, she was the daughter of James W. And Nell, nee Dodson, Sweney. She was united in marriage to Harry J. Gamel on May 9, 1953 in St. Louis, Missouri and he survives.

Mrs. Gamel was a member of St. Gerard Majella Catholic Church in Kirkwood, Missouri.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her son, Michael Gamel.

Surviving are her husband, Harry J. Gamel, her children, Janice (Mike) Tennant, Steve (Paula) Gamel, Mary (Tom) Garare, Susan Wiethop, Karen (Tim) Moloney, Sharon Myer, Theresa (Chris) Keefe, James (Judy) Gamel, Kathleen Gamel, Timothy (Michelle) Gamel, Joan Gamel, Nancy (Rob) Eveker, Lori (Kevin) Bessler and John (Geetanjali) Gamel; her sister, Shirley Sweney, 24 grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends.

All services will be private. The Creason Funeral Home in Millstadt, Illinois is in charge of arrangements.
