Dale Leon Simmering, Sr., of Granite City, Illinois departed this life on Wednesda, April 28, 2015, having attained the age of 85 years, 2 months, and 21 days.

Dale was a veteran of the United States Air Force, a former member of the Collinsville Post of the American Legion, and a boilermaker by trade.
Dale was born on February 7, 1930, in Peoria, Illinois, the only son of Gertrude Simmering. He married the former Kathy Davis on July 27, 1996, in Albaney, Louisiana.

He was preceded in death by his mother, his step-father Glen Mallard, a son, Mark Simmering, and one great-great grandchild.

Dale is survived by his wife; children Tom Simmering of England, Mike Simmering, of Colorado, Bob Simmering, of Colorado, Dale Simmering Jr., of Colorado; step children, Marion Coleman, of Granite City, Illinois, Shamika (Orlando) Marand, of Shiloh, Illinois, Lashonda (Alvin) Lowery, of Shiloh, Illinois, and Terri (Herbie) Kassly, of Collinsville, Illinois; thirteen grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild; and many friends.
