Betty Gene Solomon of OFallon, Missouri passed away on Sunday, April 26, 2009 at Villages of St. Peters in St. Peters, Missouri, having attained the age of 81 years, 2 months and 13 days.

Born in Paducah, Kentucky on February 13, 1928, she was the daughter of the late Jewel Herbert and Cledie (Vandergrift Gann) Pate. She married Charlie Ray Solomon on July 2, 1946 in Paducah, Kentucky and he preceded her in death on May 5, 1990.

Mrs. Solomon was a nurses aide and a longtime member of First Baptist Church of OFallon, Missouri and the WMU.

Left to mourn her passing are her children, David (Aileen Grace) Solomon of Hanahan, South Carolina, Kathy Jean (John) Rundel of Stafford, Virginia, Dennis (Nancy) Solomon of Hanahan, South Carolina, Michael (Tina) Solomon of OFallon, Missouri and Beth (Olen) Brodhacker of Alton, Illinois; three sisters, Mary (Rudy) Qualls of Paducah, Kentucky, Martha (Dan) Thompson of Debeque, Colorado and Patricia Pate of Denver, Colorado; her grandchildren, Keith (Chrissy) Solomon of Cheshire, Connecticut, Melody (Tony) Joyce of Raleigh, North Carolina, Richard Rundel of Stafford, Virginia, Cori Norris of Collingswood, New Jersey, Jeremy (Marie) Solomon of Central, South Carolina, John Clemit of Hanahan, South Carolina, Joseph Clemit of Hanahan, South Carolina, Eric Solomon of OFallon, Missouri, Dylan Solomon of OFallon, Missouri, Steven Brodhacker of Alton, Illinois and Sierra Brochacker of Alton, Illinois and three great-grandchildren, Hannah Solomon, Jenny Solomon and Debby Solomon.
Friends may call on Thursday, April 30, 2009 from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 P.M. at the First Baptist Church in OFallon, Missouri. Memorials may be made to the church.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, April 30, 2009 at 6:00 p.m. at the First Baptist Church with Rev. Lee Sanders officiating. Interment will be on Friday, May 1, 2009 at Mt. Kenton Cemetery, Paducah, Kentucky.

Southern Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
